Parking Eased by New Valets at Dover’s Union Hospital

Parking Solutions, Inc. is proud to announce their new valet location at Union Hospital in Dover Ohio. Beginning on March 12, 2013, parking has been made available for patients and visitors weekdays from 7a.m to 5p.m. “The new valet service will provide welcome assistance to people coming to the hospital” says Carey Gardner, director of community relations at Union Hospital.

“Our valet staff extends our hospital welcome outside the Main Entrance, right to the car door,” Gardner said.  “I am sure many patients will appreciate some assistance getting in and out of their vehicle and the added service of valet parking. We’ve had great feedback from patients and visitors, especially on the days recently that have been cold and wet.”

Terry Robinson of Dover is the lead valet staff member at Union Hospital and says he’s pleased that valet parking has been so well received.

The valet staff has received extensive training in serving patient needs and safely and securely parking cars.  The valets have also gone through Union Hospital orientation and training to further prepare them to work in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Our CLE Valets in The Cleveland Plain Dealer

The Cleveland Plain Dealer highlighted the excellent convenience and service of PSI's Curbsidevalet operation at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

Manager Zach Wentzel and Valet Damon Beard were quoted in the piece welcoming all Cleveland-area travelers to experience the curbside service. Beard notes that we typically see business travelers; however, "the service can be handy if you're picking someone up or have an elderly or handicapped family member." Valet Osman Ali is featured in an action-shot photo.

Inaugural Safety Hall of Fame Inductees

Congratulations to the team at Nationwide Executive Car Wash, led by Site Manager Danny McCloud, for their induction to PSI's Safety Hall of Fame.

The team at Nationwide has an extraordinary 1,368 days (that's almost four years!) and counting as a safe work environment. This means there have been no accidents - either of cars or employees, no reports of damage to vehicles or any other unsafe activity at the site. McCloud attributes the success to a watchful eye, constant training and selection of the most-qualified team member to drive cars. He also ensures everyone continues to take pride in their excellence by posting a board at the garage featuring the number of days they've stayed safe (the team has the company's longest safety streak).

To celebrate their success, McCloud and rising star Jeremy Baugus received a monetary bonus and lunch with President Aaron Shocket and Safety Manager Rob Jones.

PSI's Nationwide Executive Car Wash service began in 2007. Our team provides car wash services with safety and excellence always top of mind.

Safety Tip: Keep a Safe Distance

Following too closely is defined as, “a situation in which one vehicle is following another vehicle so closely that even if the following driver is attentive to the actions of the vehicle ahead he/she could not avoid a collision in the circumstance when the driver in front brakes suddenly.”

How do you know if you're following too closely?

Use The 3-second Following Distance Rule:
  • Choose a fixed point that is even with the car in front of you. For example, a road sign or a building. If you reach that fixed point before you can count to three, then you are following too close.
  • Note: The 3-second rule allows for a safe following distance when the road is dry and straight.
  • If the road is wet, icy, curvy, or visibility is limited, then you need to increase your following distance.
You must be aware of your surroundings and create enough room in case something goes wrong. When on a street with many side roads, you need to anticipate the driver in front of you making a turn. When you approach an intersection, always be prepared for the car in front of you to make a quick stop in case the light turns yellow. When driving around a sharp turn, leave enough room for the vehicle in front of you to brake to handle the turn.
